Interning with TOLM

Purpose

The purpose of the TOLM Internship is for North Americans to have the opportunity to gain international mission experience and to help TOLM minister to the community of Magdalena.

Serve

Interns serve at Mount Sinai Christian School and Mount Sinai Evangelical Mission Church, assisting teachers in the classroom, tutoring students, teaching Bible classes and English, assisting TOLM with special projects, working with the local church, and building bridges with the people of Magdalena.

Opportunities

There are many types of internships available with TOLM including: pastoral, administration, event planning, education, media, social work, missions, construction, finance, church planting, health, nutrition, and dental hygiene.

Daily Life

TOLM Interns stay with host families that live in Magdalena. They are approved by the ministry and know how to prepare meals and care for all participants and interns. Interns have the privilege of eating with host families and the Méndez family. The food consists of a variety of Guatemalan cuisine as well as American dishes. During excursions, interns eat "out" at restaurants that are safe.
